OUR HISTORY

1939

Originally established as Electric Motor and Supply Company (EMSCO), a small shop in the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah by Mr. Edmund (Ed) Neeley. The shop specialized in the winding, re-winding, repair and sale of electric motors.

1970

As motor and machine technology continued to evolve, it became less practical to service motors and more economical to simply buy new ones. Accordingly, EMSCO began to expand its specialization to include an entire industry of power tools, woodworking machinery and construction and fabrication equipment. While maintaining its focus on customer satisfaction, intelligent and honest customer service and electrical support, the small motor shop was becoming a truly unique, full-service company.

1982

Emsco purchased by son Michael Neeley and his partner Matthew Jones to form M&M Tool and Machinery.

1999

Brother Steve Neeley purchases M&M Tool and Machinery in a partnership with Michael, to grow the business and solidify its position as a growing national distributor with both surprisingly big buying power and friendly small-town service.

2006

M&M Tool and Machinery acquires a much larger 13,000 square foot showroom and greater shop and storage space, moving to the space where they presently operate. The online parts store www.mmtoolparts.com was developed by Amy Neeley. Steve's daughter, expanding access to hard-to-find tool replacement parts across the globe.

2010

Mike Neeley retires for greener pastures on the local golf course, leaving the business in Steve's capable hands.

2024

M&M Tool and Machinery is acquired by Arie Wiglama, a close contact and friend of the Neeley family, who continues to operate the business with the same family-run principles and focus on customer excellence.
